Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychoeducation on perinatal mental health, ensuring clients are informed and supported through various resources.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop effective treatment plans in consultation with clinical supervisors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including treatment plans, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to foster a sense of community and support among clients.
• Actively engage with local community resources and agencies to create a robust referral network.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions to enhance team collaboration and clinical skills.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality as outlined by the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.
• Empower clients by helping them navigate social service needs and providing advocacy as part of the clinical team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will primarily work with individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges, encompassing prenatal and postpartum issues. Clients may include new parents facing anxiety, depression, or adjustment disorders related to parenthood. A strong emphasis on culturally competent care is crucial as the clinic serves a diverse population with varying needs.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• Possession of a valid professional license (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) as required by state regulations.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient mental health setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening and empathy.
• No history of medical malpractice claims, verified through a third-party background check.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in perinatal mental health or with a similar client population is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with JCAHO, Medicaid, and DBH standards and compliance requirements.
• Previous experience in group therapy facilitation or psychosocial assessment methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
