Forest View Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team in a full-time remote outpatient capacity. Work Environment

The opportunity offered is primarily remote, allowing flexibility while ensuring interactions with clients through virtual platforms. Our outpatient office provides a collaborative space for occasional team meetings, training sessions, and community events. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including preliminary interviews, and accurately document findings from the initial consultation through treatment completion.
  • Evaluate clients’ emotional, behavioral, and psychical well-being to create effective intervention strategies.
  • Develop individualized, couple, group, and family treatment plans that address diverse mental health issues and align with evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, adapting methodologies to suit various client needs and preferences.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment and recalibrate plans as needed for optimal recovery outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprised of mental health professionals, medical doctors, and social workers to enhance care coordination and address client needs holistically.
  • Ensure clients receive ongoing support, including follow-up communications with psychiatrists for those experiencing psychiatric crises or requiring hospitalization.
  • Advise family members and primary caregivers on strategies for supporting loved ones facing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will engage with a diverse array of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and other mental health issues. Our clientele comprises adolescents, adults, and families, which requires a flexible and adaptable approach tailored to each demographic's unique requirements and cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
  • Applicants must have successfully passed the NCE and/or NCMHCE exams.
  • Strong foundational experience in mental health counseling is essential.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems; familiarity with AVATAR is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of various mental health conditions, including co-occurring disorders and their treatment methodologies.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong empathetic approach to client interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working with clients exhibiting complex behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Keen awareness of the impact of prescribed medications on mental health recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
