This position provides outpatient psychiatric care within the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital, with a portion of effort dedicated to the Nia Project. The role includes clinical care, teaching, and collaborationwithin a multidisciplinary team.
The Nia Project, based at Grady Health System and led by Nadine Kaslow within Emory’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is a nationally recognized, culturally responsive program that serves African American women withhistories of interpersonal violence and suicidality. The program provides trauma-informed clinical care, community-based support, and participates in federally funded research aimed at advancing equitable mental health interventions.
While the majority of effort is dedicated to outpatient clinical care, the Nia Project component requires demonstrated interest or experience in culturally responsive, trauma-informed care for underserved populations.

Clinical Responsibilities (0.9 FTE - Outpatient Clinic)
· Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult outpatients
· Manage psychopharmacologic treatment and ongoing care
· Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
· Participate in treatment team meetings and clinic operations
· Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
· Support care coordination, including referrals and transitions of care

Program Responsibilities (0.1 FTE - Nia Program)
· Provide psychiatric support to the Nia Program
· Collaborate with program leadership and team members
· Scope of work to be further defined in collaboration with the Nia leadership team

Teaching & Supervision
· Provide teaching and supervision to trainees (residents, medical students, and others as applicable)
· Offer guidance on diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychopharmacology
· Provide consultation and support to advanced practice providers as needed

Departmental Responsibilities
· Participate in departmental meetings and activities (e.g., Grand Rounds)
· Maintain compliance with institutional requirements (licensure, credentialing, training, etc.)
· Contribute to a collaborative and professional clinical environment

Reporting Structure
Reports to Dr. Jennifer Wootten (Outpatient Service Director) and Dr. Nadine Kaslow (Nia Program Director)
Additional Expectations
Weekend inpatient coverage is a required component of this role. Faculty members will initially have the opportunity to volunteer for paid weekend call; any unclaimed shifts may be equitably assigned among available faculty. The total number of weekends will vary based on faculty availability, and additional compensation is provided for all weekend coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• MD or DO degree required, along with completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program and eligibility for, or current licensure in, the State of Georgia. 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
