Job description

Gila River Health Care is seeking for a qualified Full Time Psychiatric Physician for its Chandler, AZ location.

Our Full Time position comes with great benefits, generous amount of PTO, Loan Repayment program, and Malpractice insurance.

Position Summary: 

Evaluates, diagnoses, and provides psychiatric treatment to patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Provides treatment in the form of psychotherapeutic methods and procedures and administers appropriate medication. Responsible for monitoring entire caseload and intervening where necessary to ensure continuous patient health improvement. Provides clinical leadership and consultation services to other medical professionals to optimize organizational effectiveness and delivery of patient care.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Graduate from an accredited program of study leading to either an M.D. or D.O. required.
  • Current, unrestricted and valid State of Arizona license to practice medicine from the Arizona Medical Board or the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine & Surgery. If licensed in another state, must possess such Arizona license within 1 year of hire.
  • Must possess or be actively pursuing a Psychiatric Board Certification. Must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Completion of either an ACGME or AOA approved Psychiatric Medicine training or residency program required.
  • Current and continuing CPR/AED training and certifications within 90 days in position. Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
