About the Role:
PIMA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PLLC is looking for a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team in Tucson, AZ. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients navigating mental health challenges in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
  • DO NOT apply for this position if you are not located in Tucson, AZ or unwilling to relocate within 60-90 days from hire.
  • DO NOT apply for this position if you are not willing to work in-office a minimum of 3 days per week. This is a hybrid position with most patients seen in-person with possibility of work from home 1-2 days per week depending on schedule.
  • DO NOT apply for this position if you have less than 1 year experience as a full time PMHNP.
  • Salary negotiable DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for new and existing patients
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans including psychopharmacology
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, adjusting as clinically appropriate
  • Provide supportive psychotherapy and supportive counseling as part of integrated care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, therapists, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in care coordination and follow-up to ensure continuity of patient care
Requirements:
  • MINIMUM 1 year experience as a PMHNP, 2+ years experience is strongly preferred
  • Active and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arizona (PMHNP certification required)
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health specialization
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Arizona
  • Experience in psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health treatment
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and evidence-based psychiatric practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Experience with EHR systems and clinical documentation best practices
