Job description

Temple University's College of Liberal Arts Psychology Department is searching for a Research Assistant!

Hourly Rate Range: $15.38 - $19.24
A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.
Position Description
Under the supervision of Dr. Ellman and other senior staff, the research assistant will aid in collecting and managing data in a multi-site study aiming to identify biomarkers and associated predictors of clinical and behavioral outcomes in individuals at risk for psychosis and psychiatric comparison groups. The research assistant will be involved in data collection at all time points and will administer semi-structured clinical interviews and cognitive tasks, as well as be involved in the collection of biosamples, including EEG data, MRI data, and processing blood samples (e.g., centrifuging and storing in freezers, although blood will be collected by a phlebotomist).
The research assistant will also be trained to work on our active clinical trial, assist lab staff with daily lab operations, such as recruiting participants, managing data, and supervising undergraduate volunteers. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a psychological research lab.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Details

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree.
* At least six (6) months of directly related work experience.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Experience working or volunteering with individuals with mental disorders and/or similar vulnerable populations.
* Experience with data management.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Experience with MRI, EEG, or psychophysiological assessments.
* Experience working with clinical populations (for example, clinical interviewing).
Required Skills and Abilities
* Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to use one of the following programs or something comparable: SAS, SPSS, R, Qualtrics, Redcap, Python, and/or STATA.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends.
