Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or higher (preferred)
  • Training in a human relations field such as Social Work, Community Psychology, Education, Child Development and/or work or life experience in a related field
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents from a variety of racial, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to remain calm and non-confrontational with students in crisis
  • Ability and willingness to physically intervene in student confrontations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Willingness to attend professional trainings on a regular basis

Compensation

  • The hourly wage for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Educational Support Professionals, which is available on our website.ย  The District gives experienced employees up to 20 years of experience credit for service outside the District if it is directly related to their position.ย  100% of an employee's contributions to IMRF are currently paid by the Board of Education.ย  The Board also pays 100% of employee-only health and term life insurance.ย  There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance.ย  Dental is also available at competitive rates to interested employees.ย  There are opportunities for employees to earn additional compensation during the regular school year and in the summer.
