Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care through phone assessment in HCA ER's, reviews, evaluates and presents clinical presentations of patients requiring psychiatric hospitalization to the admitting physician at RPC and works with a multidisciplinary team to determine appropriate care for patients identified with a psychiatric illness.
Key tasks within the department are reviewing clinical presentations for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, responding to community inquiry calls and performing telehealth level of care assessments. The ideal candidate will have experience with behavioral health assessments, the ability to quickly assess and provide recommendations on level of care in the context of psychiatric symptoms and knowledge of admission criteria in a behavioral health hospital.

EDUCATION:

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer 1-3 years experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments.ยท 
  • RNs require a minimum of 1 year of experience in an setting working directly with patients with psychiatric symptoms.
  • Applicants should be comfortable working with technology and interacting well in a multidisciplinary team consisting of RN's, MD's, SW and other QMHP's.
