About this Job Division: Within the SFF Department at ELMHS Located in Jackson, LA but may be used to fill a vacancy within another department The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and positive individual to join our team as a Psych Aide 1 or a Psych Aide 2. Minimum Qualifications No experience or training required.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: In this role, you will: Attend, report, and accepts patient care assignment for assigned shift. Maintain a therapeutic environment, correctly identify patient growth and development stage, and communicate according to level of understanding, stage of growth and development.

Ensure patient safety and demonstrate ability to identify potential or real safety hazards, corresponding to individual patient stage of growth and development. Conduct patient groups under the direction of RN staff and documents patient participation; participate in treatment team staffing, provide nursing input and notifies appropriate personnel when patient conditions or behaviors change. Perform routine nursing duties according to level of competency and within licensure guidelines and documents findings or patient's responses accurately and timely.

Maintain open communication with supervisors, reports accidents, injuries according to policy and procedure and participates willingly in investigations, provides incident reports when appropriate. Maintain a current and unencumbered motor vehicle license Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Psych Aide 1 or Psych Aide 2 based on experience Work Schedule: Days or Nights Compensation: This position is eligible for an SER rate of: $12.15 an hour or $972.00 bi-weekly for a Psych Aide 1 $13.00 an hour or $1040.00 bi-weekly for Psych Aide 2 This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked): $1.00 an hour for Facility Longevity $1.50 an hour for Recruitment and Retention This position may be used to fill any Psych Aide position at ELMHS How To Apply: No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
