Job Title:

Per Diem Psych LVN / LPT

Division/Program:

Merced Crisis Residential Unit (Adult Inpatient Program)

Starting Compensation:

32.00 - 34.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Merced, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Per Diem coverage needed for 12hour AM and/or NOC shifts (06:00-18:30 / 18:00-06:30). Coverage is as needed, based on facility needs and the candidate's availability. NOC shift includes a $2 differential.

What you bring:

Licensure:

  • A valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license is required.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) is required; an associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred

Experience:

  • At least one (1) year of nursing experience is required, preferably treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this experience.)
  • One (1) year of experience with medication administration is preferred.

How you will make a difference

  • Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians' or nurse practitioners' orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
  • Prepares, presents, and coordinates or supervises a verbal or written change of shift report.

  • 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
  • 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
  • Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
  • Medication evaluation and support services
