Votre experience

  • Doctorat en genie electrique avec une specialisation en systemes d'energie, ou maitrise avec une experience industrielle equivalente.

  • Experience dans un ou plusieurs des domaines suivants : modelisation, dynamique, exploitation, controle ou planification en reseaux electriques.

  • Experience industrielle prealable avec une ou plusieurs technologies de controle comme SCADA, EMS, DMS ou automatisation de sous-stations est fortement souhaitee.

  • La connaissance des normes de fiabilite et/ou des directives d'exploitation telles que celles fournies par le NERC ou ISO - souhaitable.

The opportunity

We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in Power Systems for our research center in Montreal, Quebec. As a scientist in the global Hitachi Energy Research organization, you will propose and lead cutting edge research projects to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology for Hitachi Energy's future products and services. The seniority level for this position will align with the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.

How you'll make an impact

  • Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems, or Master's with equivalent industrial experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: power system modeling, dynamics, operation, control, or planning.

  • Prior industrial experience with one or more control technologies like SCADA, EMS, DMS, or substation automation is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of reliability standards and/or operation guidelines such as those provided by NERC or ISOs is preferred.

  • Prior industrial experience in transmission or distribution control room operations (frontend or backend) is highly desired.

  • Familiarity with relevant standards and protocols such as IEC 61850 (GOOSE and SV), DNP3, PMU protocols, Modbus, etc.

  • Proficient in computation and simulation tools, such as Matlab, Simulink, PSCAD, RTDS/Opal-RT, PSS/E, DIgSILENT-PowerFactory, etc.

  • Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++ is highly valued.
