Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000

About the Role

The PSO Program Director serves as a trusted advisor to healthcare organizations participating in the PSO, supporting patient safety learning, collaboration, and improvement efforts through education, data insights, and consultation. Working closely with member organizations and internal subject matter experts, this role helps members interpret patient safety information, access relevant resources, and engage in collaborative learning opportunities that promote safer care.

This position combines patient safety knowledge, data interpretation, facilitation, education, and relationship management. The Program Director supports member engagement, contributes to educational and analytical initiatives, and connects healthcare leaders with evidence-informed practices, tools, and peer learning opportunities. This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities and works collaboratively across clinical, operational, analytics, and technology teams to support PSO strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Member Support & Advisory Services

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned PSO members, building collaborative relationships with clinical, quality, risk, and operational leaders.
• Provide consultation and guidance on patient safety topics, PSWP reporting, PSES documentation, and Patient Safety Rule requirements.
• Support member organizations in identifying patient safety priorities and connecting them with relevant resources, tools, educational opportunities, and leading practices.
• Promote participation in PSO programs, collaborative learning activities, and educational offerings.

Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze patient safety data, benchmarking results, and clinical trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement priorities.

• Translate data findings into clear and actionable reports, presentations, and educational materials for healthcare audiences.
• Collaborate with analytics and technology teams to support development of reports, dashboards, and member-facing resources.
• Share evidence-informed practices, tools, and resources that may help members strengthen patient safety and quality improvement efforts.

Education & Collaborative Learning

• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate webinars, educational programs, peer learning sessions, and collaborative forums.
• Facilitate discussions that encourage shared learning, practical problem-solving, and dissemination of leading practices.
• Create educational resources and implementation tools that help members translate evidence into practice.
• Support continuing education activities and learning opportunities for multidisciplinary healthcare audiences.

Program Support & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute subject matter expertise and member perspectives to support enhancement of PSO programs, services, and educational resources.
• Monitor emerging patient safety topics, regulatory developments, and member needs and share insights with PSO leadership.
• Gather member feedback and identify opportunities to strengthen member engagement and service delivery.
• Support implementation of PSO strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.

Project Coordination & Operations

• Manage assigned projects, deliverables, and member support activities.
• Coordinate timelines, meetings, communications, and follow-up activities to support successful program delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient execution of member-facing services and educational offerings.
• Support operational processes, documentation, and activities necessary to maintain PSO compliance and effectiveness.

Professional Engagement

• Participate in conferences, webinars, and professional development activities as appropriate.
• Maintain current knowledge of patient safety science, quality improvement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
• Contribute to educational presentations, publications, and member communications as requested.

• Comfortable reviewing and interpreting data and communicating findings to clinical and operational stakeholders.
• Organized, self-directed professional who can manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
• Collaborative team member committed to continuous learning and advancing patient safety.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (MSN, MPH, MHA, PharmD, or equivalent).
• Active clinical licensure (e.g., RN, RT, PharmD, PA, NP).
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, healthcare operations, clinical practice, or a related field.
• Experience using data, reports, or performance information to support learning and improvement activities.
• Strong communication, facilitation, project coordination, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with a federally listed Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA).
• Training or certification in patient safety or quality improvement (e.g., CPPS, CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma, HRO).
