What is PSLF?

PSLF stands for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, a federal program in the United States that forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after the borrower has made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying public service employer. This program is designed to encourage individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in public service jobs. Eligible employers typically include government organizations and non-profit organizations. Borrowers must meet specific criteria and submit an application to receive forgiveness.

What is a PSLF job?

A PSLF job refers to employment with a qualifying public service organization that makes an individual eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Qualifying employers include government organizations, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and certain other nonprofit organizations that provide public services. To benefit from PSLF, borrowers must work full-time for a qualifying employer and make 120 qualifying payments under an eligible repayment plan.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program administrator?

These skills are essential to accurately administer complex loan forgiveness processes, support borrowers, and uphold regulatory standards.

Building strong communication with borrowers and regularly reviewing case files can help prevent errors and missed deadlines, ultimately improving client outcomes.

Job description

Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist Hospital Outpatient Atlanta, GA PSLF Eligible
Position Highlights
  • Nonprofit hospital-affiliated outpatient clinic in the Atlanta area
  • Senior hand therapist on site as a dedicated mentor, one of the rare true on-ramps into hands
  • Hands-heavy caseload: hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, with a neuro mix
  • CHT not required to start, build toward it with mentorship and support
  • PSLF eligible, sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance
  • Monday through Friday, no weekends
  • Clinical ladder, CE stipend, generous PTO, 401(k) match
  • Small, collaborative team with strong interdisciplinary support
  • Open to new grads and experienced OTs
About the Role
You would take on a hands-focused caseload of hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders, rounded out with some neuro work including stroke, TBI, and the occasional SCI. What sets the role apart is the senior OT on site with deep hand therapy experience, whose job is to bring you along. Whether you are already established in hands or building toward your CHT, you would be learning next to someone who has mastered it rather than figuring it out alone.
The team is small and collaborative, the schedule is a steady Monday through Friday, and the clinical ladder, CE stipend, and 401(k) match are there to support the long game. Because the hospital is a nonprofit, you are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness from day one, which for most therapists is worth far more over a career than a slightly higher starting salary somewhere else.
Qualifications
  • MOT or OTD from an accredited program
  • Active or pending Georgia OT license
  • Interest or experience in hand therapy and/or neuro preferred
  • CHT a plus, not required
  • New grads and experienced OTs both encouraged to apply
  • Strong interdisciplinary teamwork skills
