Description:

The Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate is a dual-role position responsible for both delivering paint and related products to local customers and supporting warehouse and store operations. This role requires flexibility, as time will be split between driving duties and in store/warehouse tasks based on daily business needs.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Delivery Driver Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)

  • Safely load and secure merchandise for transport.
  • Deliver products to customer locations while ensuring accuracy and meeting service expectations.
  • Unload deliveries at customer sites and verify shipments with the appropriate customer representative.
  • Maintain proper delivery documentation and ensure accurate paperwork flow.
  • Operate company vehicle in compliance with all state and federal laws while maintaining an acceptable driving record.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or repair needs to a supervisor.
  • Return materials, tools, and customer items (e.g., color matches) to the store or warehouse.
  • Represent the company professionally and identify potential sales leads, communicating them to Sales Representatives.

Warehouse & Store Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)

  • Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, label, stage, and ship customer orders according to company procedures.
  • Mix paint using standard and custom formulas with precision to minimize errors.
  • Organize and maintain inventory and warehouse space to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Assist with order fulfillment, including picking and staging products.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (preferred).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and store areas.
  • Match packing slips with purchase orders and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with periodic or annual inventory counts.

Customer Service & Additional Duties

  • Provide in store customer service, including processing orders and answering product-related questions.
  • Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers as needed.
  • Pick up materials from local vendors when required.
  • Support store employees with additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Participate in training programs, including product knowledge and safety training.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
  • Proven warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of paint mixing and color matching preferred (training provided if needed).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing ladders for extended periods (2.5 to 8 hours).
  • Ability to work on concrete or hard surfaces for long durations.
  • Must be able to distinguish color variations accurately.
  • Comfortable working around non-toxic paint odors.

Training Requirements

  • Required: Right-to-Know Training
  • Hazardous Waste Training
  • Participation in manufacturer training seminars (may include occasional overnight travel).

Work Environment

This position operates in both warehouse and driving environments, requiring adaptability to changing daily priorities. The role combines physical labor, customer interaction, and logistical coordination.
