Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Program Security Assistant to join our team in the Chantilly, VA area.

Program Security Assistant (PSA) provides assistance to the Government security officers serving the individual Directorates or Offices administrative security issues affecting the mission. PSA shall provide security support to conferences and other program activities as directed by the Government PSO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Process access requests ensuring proper security paperwork is prepared and submitted.
  • Support the resolution of access and clearance issues that require checking various NRO and community databases, as well as updating and ensuring the accuracy of various government security databases.
  • Maintain and update program security files and associated databases
  • Plan, organize, and implement procedures to protect the content of the government security files, which may include contractor security plans, contact files, classification guides, correspondence, and compartmented documentation
  • Provide ad hoc security support (i.e., security support to large conferences and other program activities as directed by the GPOC).
  • Provide daily support to the customer on the couriering, dispatching and proper handling of classified and unclassified documents IAW referenced executive directives, instructions, and orders.
  • Domestic travel up to 25%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with personnel security support to include receiving, documenting, and forwarding reportable personal security information as appropriate.
  • Familiarity with providing customer service for program security support.
  • Familiarity with supporting personnel in-processing and out-processing transactions (i.e., Account Action Process Requests, Badge Requests, Suite Access Requests, etc.), SCI indoctrinations and debriefings, and security briefings.
  • Experience with interfacing and briefing military, civilian, and contractor personnel at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have a working knowledge of IC clearance processing procedures, experience using various databases, and proficient with MS Office.
  • Experience in supporting SCI and SAPs for legacy and evolving programs.
  • Knowledge of security-related IC and DoD policies, procedures and operating instructions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, as well as a solid group contributor working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment are essential, as well as the ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal information.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current / active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
