Do you want to join an organization that invests in you as a(an) Patient Safety Attendant? At Overland Park Regional Medical Center, you come first. HCA Healthcare has committed up to $300 million in programs to support our incredible team members over the course of three years.

You contribute to our success. Every role has an impact on our patients' lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Patient Safety Attendant like you to be a part of our team.

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients. The Sitter may also assist with basic activities of daily living. Our Patient Safety Attendants are passionate about ensuring an exceptional patient experience and committed to caring like family.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room.
  • Accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing and procedures occurring away from the patient's normal environment.
  • Establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures and self-harm prevention.
  • Perform room assessment regularly and after any visitations.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • De-Escalation Training required within first 90 days of hire.

We offer the region's only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients. Caring for patients is more than a job for us, it's our mission and our calling. OPRMC is part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City's leading healthcare provider in the region.

HCA Healthcare has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times. In recent years, HCA Healthcare spent an estimated $3.7 billion in cost for the delivery of charitable care, uninsured discounts, and other uncompensated expenses.
