Job description

Line Driver (CDL Class A) – (VA to NC, 12pm-8pm back daily)

Prudential Overall Supply is seeking a safety-focused, dependable Line Driver (CDL Class A) to join our team. This role is responsible for transporting trailers between service centers and designated locations while ensuring safe, timely, and efficient deliveries.

This is a full-time, year-round position (NOT seasonal) with opportunities for growth into leadership and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport trailers between service centers and turn-point locations
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using approved freight handling equipment
  • Secure cargo and maintain load integrity
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Communicate with dispatch and management regarding route updates, delays, hazards, and incidents
  • Complete drop-and-hook operations and adjust trailer configurations as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations
  • Follow Company safety policies and vehicle accident reporting procedures
  • Carry valid CDL and medical certification while operating company vehicles
  • Operate safely and report to work well-rested and prepared
  • Complete required paperwork and electronic logging documentation
  • Support additional transportation duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Must provide a clean MVR (dated within 30 days of application)
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class 8 tractor driving experience
  • Working knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations
  • Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified
  • Ability to read and follow directions in English
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and occasional rain
  • Ability to safely complete assigned routes and required documentation
  • Must pass:
    • Pre-employment drug screening
    • Background check
    • FMCSA Clearinghouse registration and requirements
