Job description

Job Summary:
Prudential Financial is a leading financial services institution seeking a talented Cribl/Splunk Data Engineer to join their Cyber Defense and Technology team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines using Splunk and Cribl Stream, while collaborating with various teams to optimize log management processes.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using Splunk and Cribl Stream.
• Optimize data ingestion, parsing, and routing to ensure scalable and efficient log management.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, and Operations teams to define log sources, data formats, and use cases.
• Develop and maintain Cribl Stream pipelines for filtering, enriching, and transforming log data.
• Troubleshoot data flow issues and provide technical support for Splunk and Cribl Stream environments.
• Monitor and tune the performance of data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing resources.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1-3+ years of experience with Splunk, including architecture, data ingestion, and dashboarding.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with Cribl Stream (designing pipelines, managing deployments).
• Strong understanding of log management, data parsing, and event correlation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
• Splunk Edge Processor
• Intro to Splunk certification
• Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin certification
• Cribl Certified Administrator certification
• Experience with other SIEM or log management tools.
