Impact You'll Make

We are seeking a Senior Vice President/Director to join our growing Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice, with a focus on leading income tax provision engagements for private equity and corporate clients.

This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, leveraging deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of each client's business strategy and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who is excited to help support and contribute to an expanding service line within an established firm environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the preparation and review of complex ASC 740 deliverables, serving as a hands-on resource throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Supervise and develop analysts, associates, and managers on engagement teams.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, and administrative tasks.
  • Identify key tax risks and opportunities.
  • Apply ASC 740 requirements to prepare and review income tax accrual calculations, including current and deferred tax computations, valuation allowance analyses, uncertain tax positions (ASC 740-10), effective tax rate analysis, quarterly and annual journal entries, footnotes, tax account roll-forwards, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review income tax disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and related financial statement footnotes.
  • Conduct federal and state tax research and draft/review memoranda to support tax return filing positions and ASC 740 conclusions.
  • Review tax footnote disclosures and related SEC reporting workpapers (10-Q, 10-K) and present results to client management and external auditors.
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax matters, including provision, planning, technical research, and audit support with external auditors.
  • Support business development efforts, including managing client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and identifying opportunities within current engagements.
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and training of analysts and associates.
  • Analyze complex ideas or proposals and develop meaningful recommendations.
  • Simplify complex messages by highlighting and summarizing key points.
  • Address work that does not meet firm or client expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to scale efficiencies and improve ways of working across projects and environments.

What You Bring

  • Detailed knowledge of ASC 740 and related tax accounting guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, peers, and management.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
  • Minimum 8+ years of tax experience in a Big Four, national accounting firm, or large corporate tax department, with significant focus on ASC 740 and income tax provision.
  • Demonstrated expertise in industries such as manufacturing, CPG, life sciences, and healthcare.
  • Combination of audit and tax provision/advisory experience strongly preferred, particularly with private equity portfolio companies or SEC registrants.
  • Tax provision experience required.
  • CPA required or strongly preferred.
