The role: 

The IAM Coordinator is responsible for the administration, governance, and day-to-day operations of Identity and Access Management (IAM) across the organization.

This role ensures employees, contractors, and vendors have appropriate, policy-aligned access to systems and data. The IAM Coordinator supports user access provisioning and deprovisioning, access reviews, reporting, and process coordination while maintaining strong alignment with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in a fintech environment.

This is an operationally focused role well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, process-driven, collaborative, and interested in growing within security and risk management.

Duties & Responsibilities
Access Administration
  • Provision, modify, and deprovision user access across enterprise applications and infrastructure systems
  • Assess access requests for completeness, proper approvals, and policy alignment
  • Ensure access is granted according to role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles
  • Maintain and update access management systems and documentation
  • Meet defined service level expectations (SLAs) for access requests and issue resolution
  • Support secure vendor and third-party production access controls

Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) Processes
  • Coordinate access provisioning for new hires
  • Facilitate access updates for role changes and internal transfers
  • Ensure prompt and complete removal of access upon employee or contractor termination
  • Partner with Human Resources, managers, and Technology teams to ensure timely and accurate lifecycle management

Access Reviews & Governance
  • Coordinate periodic access reviews and certifications (quarterly/annual or as required)
  • Track reviewer responses and follow up on outstanding items
  • Support remediation of inappropriate, excessive, or outdated access
  • Produce scheduled reporting (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual) as required
  • Maintain documentation supporting control effectiveness

Audit, Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of access requests, approvals, certifications, and changes
  • Support internal audits, regulatory exams, and compliance assessments related to IAM controls
  • Ensure IAM processes align with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX or similar control frameworks)
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer, employee, and company information

Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Partner with Security, IT, Desktop Support, Infrastructure, Operations, and business stakeholders to coordinate access-related activities
  • Participate in the development and review of IAM processes and procedures
  • Represent IAM/Access Administration on projects and initiatives as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve IAM workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance automation
  • Contribute to scalable IAM processes that support organizational growth
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3+ years of experience in IT operations, security operations, IAM, or related roles
  • Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management principles
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline
  • Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive requests while maintaining accuracy
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated environments
  • Familiarity with RBAC, least privilege, and access certification processes
  • Experience with IAM platforms and/or ticketing systems
  • Understanding of audit and compliance requirements
  • Interest in developing toward advanced IAM, governance, or security roles
