Job description

About Us:

Weโ€™re a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to become a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to grow into something greaterโ€”and the same is true for our people. As we grow, weโ€™re redefining how great talent connects with meaningful workโ€”enabling our ambitious strategy while building a culture of high performance, creativity, and partnership. If youโ€™re invigorated by owning complex capital analytics end-to-end, translating quantitative insights into strategic decision making, and partnering across teams to strengthen capital positioning in a dynamic, regulated environment, this role offers the opportunity to do your best work.

ย

About the Role:

Weโ€™re looking for a Director of Capital Management who will play a critical role in executing Prosperity Lifeโ€™s capital strategy. In this role, youโ€™ll have primary ownership of capital analytics, modeling, and regulatory capital insights. Youโ€™ll be responsible for developing the quantitative foundation that supports capital decision-making, rating agency engagement, and strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President of Capital Management, you will serve as the analytical lead for capital management, partnering across actuarial, finance, treasury, and reinsurance teams to ensure the company maintains strong capital adequacy and financial strength ratings.

ย

What Youโ€™ll Do:

Regulatory Capital & RBC Ownership

  • Own the calculation, analysis, and monitoring of NAIC Risk-Based Capital (RBC) ratios across entities
  • Lead quarterly and annual RBC analytics, including variance analysis, trend reporting, and key drivers of capital movement
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency in statutory capital reporting and support regulatory interactions as needed

Capital Modeling & Forecasting

  • Own the development, maintenance, and enhancement of capital models to project statutory surplus and RBC under various scenarios
  • Lead sensitivity and stress testing to evaluate the impact of investment strategies, business growth, and market conditions
  • Provide actionable insights to inform capital planning, target setting, and risk management decisions

Rating Agency Analytics Support

  • Serve as the primary analytical lead in support of rating agency processes (AM Best, S&P, KBRA)
  • Develop capital analysis, exhibits, and supporting materials for rating reviews
  • Support the VP in preparing for rating agency interactions, including data requests and follow-up analysis

Capital Optimization & Transaction Support

  • Lead financial analysis and modeling of capital-enhancing initiatives, including reinsurance transactions and other risk-transfer strategies
  • Partner with actuarial, finance, and reinsurance teams to evaluate transaction impacts on capital, earnings, and ratings
  • Support execution of approved initiatives through detailed analysis and cross-functional coordination

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with FP&A, actuarial, treasury, and product teams to embed capital considerations into planning, pricing, and strategic initiatives
  • Provide capital insights to support decision-making on new business, investments, and organizational priorities

Management Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare capital reporting and insights for senior leadership, including capital adequacy, sensitivities, and emerging risks
  • Support development of materials for executive committees and Board-level discussions
  • Translate complex capital concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Process Improvement & Team Development

  • Drive enhancements to capital analytics, modeling capabilities, and reporting processes
  • Improve efficiency, automation, and governance of capital-related workflows
  • Support the development and mentorship of junior resources as the capital management function grows

Core Competencies

  • Enterprise Capital Strategy & RBC Leadership: Recognized expert in NAIC RBC and statutory capital, leading capital adequacy insights and governance across entities
  • Advanced Capital Modeling & Analytics: Oversees development and application of capital models, including scenario analysis and stress testing to inform strategic decisions
  • Rating Agency Strategy & Engagement: Plays a key role in shaping analytical positioning and supporting interactions with AM Best, S&P, and KBRA
  • Capital Optimization & Transaction Advisory: Leads analysis and guidance on reinsurance and capitalimpacting initiatives, influencing structure and financial outcomes
  • Executive Influence & Decision Support: Translates complex analytics into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership, executive committees, and Board audiences
  • CrossFunctional Leadership & Transformation: Drives alignment across actuarial, FP&A, treasury, and product teams while advancing capital analytics, reporting, and process efficiency

What You Bring:

  • 7โ€“10 years of experience in insurance finance, actuarial, or capital management, preferably within life and annuities
  • Strong understanding of statutory accounting (SAP) and NAIC RBC framework
Proven experience building and maintaining capital models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with rating agency capital frameworks (e.g., AM Best BCAR, S&P capital model) and regulatory capital requirements
  • Working knowledge of reinsurance structures and their impact on capital and financial results
  • Advanced Excel/modeling capabilities; ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and partner effectively across functions
  • Progress toward or attainment of FSA, CFA, or similar designation; MBA is a plus

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build whatโ€™s next
  • A variable compensation package with a base range of $170K-$210K
  • A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Hybrid work arrangement: this role is ideally based in one of our main offices (New York, Austin or Miami) but flexible arrangements (including remote work) may be considered for the right candidate.

At Prosperity, we are committed to equal employment opportunity and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. We make hiring decisions based on merit and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected status.

We strive for a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you need an adjustment or accommodation due to a disability or medical condition during the hiring process, please let your recruiter know.
