Job Description:
 
Objectives of this role:
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
  • Gain deep understanding of products and translate complex information into comprehensive, accurate, and standards compliant content.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success
Responsibilities:
  • Examine hardware configuration items by visual and physical inspection, interpret specifications/manuals, mechanical drawings, bills of materials, wire-lists, and electrical schematics to create documentation
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree
  • One or more years of experience as an effective technical writer
  • Fluent verbal and written English
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
  • Experience in working with engineers to improve understanding, refine content, and create visuals and diagrams
  • Ability to handle multiple technical writing assignments simultaneously
Preferred skills and qualifications:
  • Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication)
