Job description

Description Under direct supervision, performs a variety of Nurse Practitioner duties according to Nurse Protocol Agreement with Delegating Physician. This is a part-time position working up to 29 hours per week during health department hours with the possibility of occasional after-business hours work. This position is not eligible for benefits and will be a floater for the 10 county health departments and the HIV clinic.

Minimum Qualifications Provide primary and acute healthcare across the lifespan through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries using evidence-based practice Provide wellness exams to include women's gynecological and reproductive health care Perform sports physicals Perform DOT physicals (must be certified) Develop comprehensive plans of care using evidenced based medicine to include patient medical data, health history, progress notes and results of physical examination Perform therapeutic procedures per protocols and professional experience including but not limited to injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care Administer, order, and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiogram and laboratory tests Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens and health prevention/maintenance Prescribe appropriate therapy or medications per protocols Obtain physician approval for therapy or medications not based on protocols Examine patients to obtain information about their physical conditions Assist with other programs and services in the clinic and offsite May be asked to precept nurse practitioner students when available Additional Information Preferred Qualifications: Family Nurse Practitioner with 2 years of Primary Care experience.
