Warehouse Associate / Backup Driver Forklift Experience Needed

Our distribution facility in Cranston, RI has an immediate need for a Warehouse Associate / Backup Driver.

This is an immediate opening. Start as soon as next week.

The Warehouse Associate / Backup Driver must have six months+ of delivery driving and warehouse experience with an excellent driving record. Proper licensing is preferred.

This is a great opportunity in a growing company that has been family-owned for over 68 years.

As a Full-Time Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver, you will be:

  • Performing the daily responsibilities of a Warehouse Associate at the Cranston, RI location, including receiving, picking, packing, loading, organizing, and general warehouse duties.
  • Providing backup driving coverage on a rotating schedule with the primary company driver.
  • Driving a company vehicle safely and responsibly when assigned to delivery coverage.
  • Loading the company vehicle and verifying the condition of the truck, manifest, and required delivery paperwork.
  • Making customer deliveries, unloading, and verifying products, obtaining customer signatures, and documenting any returns or discrepancies.
  • Picking up purchase orders and other materials as assigned.
  • Completing required delivery and pickup documentation accurately.
  • Complying with applicable DOT requirements, including driver logs and maintaining a valid medical card, as required.
  • Following all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Performing other warehouse and related duties as assigned.

As a Warehouse Associate, you will be:

  • Operating forklifts, including reach truck, sit-down forklift, and order picker/cherry picker.
  • Loading and unloading trucks in an accurate, safe, and timely manner.
  • Receiving and sorting items according to protocol.
  • Packing and shipping items according to protocol.
  • Maintaining inventory controls.
  • Counting physical inventory.
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Wearing the proper safety equipment.
  • Following OSHA protocols.
  • Properly using hand trucks, 4-wheel dollies, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
