Job description

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Location: COLONIAL TERRACE CARE CENTER, Oklahoma
Department: Nursing
Reports To: Charge Nurse / Director of Nursing

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA supports residents in maintaining comfort, dignity, and quality of life while adhering to facility policies and state regulations.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:  1400-2200 Monday-Friday, 0600-2200 Saturday & Sunday-WEEKEND DOUBLES-EVERY WEEKEND.

RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION IS A MUST!


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, and mental conditions to nursing staff
  • Assist with mobility, including transferring, positioning, and ambulation
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests
  • Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support infection control practices and follow safety protocols
  • Assist with meal service and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
  • Provide compassionate emotional support to residents and their families
 

Experience

  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred, but not required

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and assist residents (may require lifting up to 50 lbs)
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Work Environment

  • Skilled nursing and long-term care facility
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids

Licensure & Requirements (Oklahoma-Specific)

  • Active CNA certification listed in the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening per state regulations
  • Compliance with all Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Oklahoma
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer skills for documentation
