Summary

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Scientist to join their team in Eugene, OR. The successful candidate must possess general chemical laboratory skills, with experience in bioconjugation chemistry preferred. The role involves producing, purifying, analyzing, and interpreting data related to fluorescent protein-based products while supporting departmental goals for safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and analyze fluorescent protein-based products to meet customer requirements and timelines.
  • Use HPLC, FPLC, and gravimetric separation techniques to purify and analyze fluorescent dye-labeled antibodies and other biomolecules.
  • Analyze and interpret scientific data.
  • Utilize specialized technical knowledge and laboratory skills.
  • Maintain professional communication with representatives from other departments and teams as required.
  • Support department goals and business objectives related to safety, quality, and timely completion of work.

Required Skills

  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Proficiency in general chemical and biological laboratory techniques, including antibody handling, purification, pipetting, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and safe handling of biological materials and chemicals.
  • Experience in bioconjugation chemistry is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch periodically for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move light to medium weights up to approximately 20 lbs occasionally.
