Role Overview
Engineer II, Turbine Controls is a mid-level engineering position for personnel experienced in gas turbine and steam turbine control systems. This role performs advanced field service controls work, including logic and graphics modifications, combustion tuning support, complex troubleshooting, control system calibrations, valve calibrations, temporary monitoring equipment setup, subcontractor oversight, and preparation of accurate technical reports. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
  • These duties and responsibilities are in addition to Engineer I, Turbine Controls.
  • Able to perform logic and graphics modifications to Mitsubishi Power control systems including logic uploads;
  • Able to perform all controls work necessary to support the combustion tuning engineer with combustion tuning activities.
  • Have the required knowledge to perform troubleshooting of the Mitsubishi Power control systems;
  • Capable of supervising subcontractor work on Mitsubishi Power instrumentation and improvement works;
  • Able to perform card calibrations on Mitsubishi Power control systems;
  • Able to perform calibrations of all Mitsubishi Power Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, IGV, and Combustor Bypass valves, to include field side and controls side;
  • Capable of connecting all temporary monitoring equipment such as CABS, CASS, and CPFM;
  • Have a basic understanding of Mitsubishi Power combustion tuning;
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports regarding conditions, required actions and obtained results;

Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university plus two (2) years experience; or at least four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land and/or air;
