Security Officer โ€“ Part Time Enhanced

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Access Control in Jackson, MS, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.38 / Hour

DayTime

Thur 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM

Fri 03:00 PM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public at a government institutional location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorized entry as directed, and document visitors, incidents, and daily activities in required reports.
  • Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies for armed patrol duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
