Job description

Job Title: Control and Protection Commissioning Engineer
Location: Corona, New Mexico

6 Months

As a Control and Protection Commissioning Engineer you will be part of HVDC unit. You will get involved to the later stages of system test in Client premises. You will lead the commissioning activities of Control and Protection and SCADA at customer's premises. You will be part of the hand-over and trial operation of HVDC links. You will have a direct interface with our customers. You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in HVDC technology, lead some of the most interesting projects in the energy field and you will have the opportunity to travel the world.
Your responsibilities
You organize and execute activities related to testing and commissioning work including responsibility for organizing test equipment.
You assist in technical discussions with the client and the client's consultants.
You are well informed about the Scope and Division of Work .
You ensure that all changes are identified and communicated to the Commissioning Manager.
You assure that commitments to the customer are met and in accordance with the contract.
You support in tender work for commissioning scope.
You participate and analyze any disturbances that may occur on the system during the commissioning and operation.

Your background
Required: Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Required: Experience with MACH technology, preferably from commissioning project stage.( Modular Advanced Control for HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems).
Required: Experience from commissioning stage of HVDC projects.
Required: Minimum 5 year of experience form Control and Protection or SCADA scope in HVDC or AC substations.
Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in Commissioning work in plants of different sizes, complexities, and technologies.
Programming and commissioning of IED relays (SEL and GE) is an advantage.
Knowledge of different communication protocols is an advantage.
Fluency in English is required.
Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to coach others in the commissioning area.
Ability to work according to relevant legislations and standards but with a pragmatic and smooth way of working.
Capacity to handle many parallel activities.
