Position Highlights
Based at the Arizona Student Unions and its satellite locations, the Asset Protection Associate helps maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, students, and visitors. Responsibilities include loss prevention, conducting foot patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, responding to emergencies, and supporting compliance with established safety and security procedures. The position may also perform safety inspections, including checks for hazardous conditions, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to help ensure a safe campus environment. This position requires evening, weekend and holiday work.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conductregular foot patrols of Student Unions grounds, including all outlets andbuildings, to ensure safety and compliance.
- MonitorCCTV systems for security purposes, including detecting suspicious activity, overseeingvendor and delivery operations, and identifying theft risks.
- Collaboratewith the Loss Prevention Specialist and leadership to design and executeinitiatives aimed at reducing external shrinkage.
- Accuratelydocument security incidents and work with law enforcement to address cases oftheft and fraud promptly and effectively.
- Partnerwith management to develop and deliver employee training programs on theftprevention, enhancing staff awareness and improving the management andreporting of loss incidents.
- Supportthe outlets with inventory procedures and best practices.
- Respondto building system alarms, including fire and mechanical alerts, ensuringtimely and appropriate action.
- Providesecurity services for events held in or near the unit as needed.
- Submitmaintenance work orders to address safety hazards or items in need of repair.
- Performroutine safety inspections on equipment.
- Delivercustomer service and concierge services to the campus, including:
- Greet,welcome, and provide exceptional customer service to all individuals
- Provideway-finding and other general informational support.
- Performdoor assists and other security related escorts on campus.
- Additionalduties as assigned.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledgeof conflict resolution techniques and strategies.
- Skillsto navigate basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office products and theInternet.
- Abilityto sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Abilityto communicate effectively with different groups/individuals both in person andelectronically.
- Abilityto maintain situational awareness and be attentive to detail.
- Abilityto respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Abilityto always maintain highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
- Abilityto succeed in a team environment as well as when working alone.
PhysicalRequirements:
- Abilityto occasionally lift a maximum of 50lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
