Job description

As a company we manufacture, design, fabricate and assemble orthotic & prosthetic devices and components for our medical customers throughout the country and world. Assisting individuals with a fulfilled life without limitations through assistance products is our mission.

The function of the O & P Lab Technician is to fabricate products construct, maintain, or repair medical supportive devices, such as braces, artificial limbs, joints, arch supports, and other surgical and medical appliances supported by management and other employees.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Medical appliance technicians create/fabricate medical devices. Technicians construct, fit, maintain, and repair braces, artificial limbs, joints, arch supports, and other surgical and medical appliances.

Technicians follow prescriptions or detailed instructions from doctors, podiatrists or orthotists / prosthetist who request braces, supports, corrective shoes, or other devices; prosthetists, who order prostheses—replacement limbs, such as an arm, leg, hand, or foot—for patients who need them due to a birth defect, accident, or amputation; or other health care professionals.

Previous experience is not necessary as the company will train fabrication of devices. Previous experience and aptitude working with your hands and tools are skills that will translate well with this position.

The position includes working with plaster, metals, leathers, plastics, foams, #D printers, CAD/CAM technology. Grinding, forming plastic, bending metal, sewing, and general assembly and finishing are all aspects of the position.
