The Harborview Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinics have an outstanding opportunity for an Orthotist-Prosthetist Technician.

WORK SCHEDULE

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

Be responsible for providing technical support to the orthotic-prosthetic practitioners, utilizing specialized skills to fabricate and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices.

This work will be completed at multiple UW Medicine facilities, including the Prosthetic-Orthotic Laboratory, inpatient and outpatient locations at Harborview Medical Center, and inpatient and outpatient locations at UWMC.

The Orthotist-Prosthetist Technician must work collaboratively with the members of the rehabilitation team and effectively communicate with team members, patients, families, and community resource representatives.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform fabrication techniques for prosthetic and orthotic devices, including lamination procedures, finishing processes for orthoses and prostheses, prosthetic bench alignment, vacuuming forming of orthoses and prosthesis and cast preparation.

  • Fabricate footwear following specific patient requirements and fit specifications, as determined by P&O provider.

  • Prepare positive models for lamination or vacuum forming.

  • Perform finishing processes for fabricating procedures done to clinician satisfaction.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of an accredited Orthotics-Prosthetics Technician program

OR

equivalent education/experience.
