The Prosthetics & Orthotics (P&O) Fitter provides direct patient care by measuring, fitting, adjusting, and maintaining prosthetic and orthotic devices under the direction of a certified prosthetist/orthotist or licensed provider.

What You'll Do
As an Orthotic Fitter, you'll work directly with patients and providers to deliver customized orthotic solutions that improve comfort, stability, and mobility.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Evaluating patients under physician direction to determine appropriate orthotic solutions
• Measuring, fitting, adjusting, and modifying braces, splints, and orthopedic devices
• Educating patients and caregivers on proper use, wear schedules, and maintenance
• Collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation teams
• Monitoring patient progress and making adjustments to optimize comfort and function
• Maintaining accurate documentation while providing exceptional patient-centered care

Minimum Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an orthotic/prosthetic fitter training program or equivalent clinical experience
• Ability to accurately measure and fit orthotic and/or prosthetic devices
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and medical terminology
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to perform hands-on clinical fitting activities
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF) and/or Certified Prosthetic Fitter (CPF)
• Experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation, or academic medical center setting
• Experience working with amputee populations or complex orthotic cases
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
