Job description

This is a fully remote position and can be based anywhere within the U.S.
The Senior Prospect Development Manager, is responsible for oversight and production of an evolving body of sophisticated and sensitive individual prospect research as well as the prospect management process to support an assigned regional and/or enterprise philanthropy team. This position directly impacts whether Philanthropy revenue goals are achieved by providing current, curated donor insight to inform frontline fundraisers' solicitation strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conducts thorough research on individuals, utilizing internal constituent information and data from multiple external research resource tools; evaluates findings and forms recommendations that inform both front-line fundraisers' solicitation and high-level prospect/donor management strategies - 55%;

  • Provides strategy insights, monitors fundraising strategy for process and management compliance and maintains strong partnerships with prospect development and assigned fundraising teams - 10%;

  • Oversees a balanced portfolio across an assigned team, evaluates new prospects as requested by the Director, Prospect Development, and collaborates with the Prospect Operations team to ensure data hygiene for major gift prospects - 10%;

  • Gathers and analyzes data on priority constituents to identify new opportunities and align donor interests with ACS programs and mission - 10%;

  • Verifies gift capacity and biographical details and assists in obtaining updated contact information for high-priority prospects - 10%;

  • Engages in professional development to remain current on best practices - 5%.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Years of experience: 5 years of experience in prospect research or equivalent field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Demonstrated expertise in prospect research technologies, data tools, CRM (Salesforce preferred) and interpretation of complex information from diverse sources (e.g., IRS forms, SEC filings, real property resources, biographical data, charitable giving databases, news sites).

  • Strong Analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, confidential and highly sensitive environment, upholding the APRA Advance Prospect Research standards and Code of Ethics.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimal.

The starting rate is $70,000 to $80,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
