ProScan Imaging is seeking a full-time, *MRI Technologist* for our Pickerington, OH location. The schedule for this position is four shifts a week, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call

General Description: Under the direction of the Site Manager, this employee performs various medical duties of a routine and recurring nature, including but not limited to patient relations, patient care (including patient safety evaluation), and imaging-specific duties. Imaging-specific duties include quality control/assurance testing and scanning. Individuals assigned to this position will normally perform the duties independently and according to established company procedures and practices. Job requirements include compliance with Ohio Department of Health credentialing regulations and educational or work experience in standard MRI practices.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level:

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures of MR safety and OSHA
  • Execute timely completion of incident reporting when accidents or adverse events occur

Patient Care:

  • Be familiar with and adhere to all company policies pertaining to HIPAA and deliver services in a manner that ensures patient privacy
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all imaging center policies and procedures governing patient care and general practices in the center
  • Educate the patient and family about the procedure being performed
  • Assist patients using proper transfer/lifting techniques and body mechanics throughout the imaging facility, including the MRI room.
  • Care for the unique needs of the patient within the accepted scope of practice for an MRI technologist
  • Provide services that are appropriate to the patient’s age and medical condition

Technical Quality and Productivity:

  • Produce images of consistently good quality within the parameters and protocols established by the Company and those required by the American College of Radiology’s MR Accreditation program
  • Perform required quality assurance testing on the imaging equipment and submit as required to corporate personnel or other agencies
  • Properly identify the patient name, account number, and other pertinent information on the images
  • Maintain productivity that is commensurate with training, experience, and number of hours worked when compared with peers working under similar conditions on similar equipment
  • Adjust scan parameters to achieve images of high quality on all types of patients, including claustrophobic patients, larger patients, or patients of any age

Professional Development:

  • Remains in good standing with the ARRT or other professional organizations by actively tracking and obtaining required continuing education credits and adhering to ethical standards
  • Provides copies of current ARRT and state licensure cards (if applicable) to the Site Manager and Human Resources Manager within thirty days after a new card is issued or sooner upon request
  • Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and provides copies of the current card to the Site Manager and Human Resources within thirty days after a new card is issued or sooner upon request

Customer Service:

  • Be familiar with and adheres to all standards set by the Company for customer service
  • Actively considers the comfort and safety of every patient or visitor to the company
  • Promptly reports customer complaints to the Site Manager
  • Offers every patient the opportunity to complete a satisfaction survey and return that survey to ProScan Imaging corporate staff in a confidential manner

Additional Requirements of the Position

Experience and/or Education:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • ARRT licensure as an x-ray technologist or other required state licensure (if applicable)
  • ARRT registry in MRI or equivalent work experience in magnetic resonance imaging (MR registry required within twelve months of employment)

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to make practical decisions and independent judgments without appreciable advancement preparation

Physical Demands:

  • Lift equipment up to thirty pounds
  • Talk and hear to communicate effectively with patients
  • Assist in the transfer of patients using proper body mechanics
