Job description

WCMH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, one of the great cities in America, DMA #34, seeks a Production Technician Which has four primary tasks:

Newscast Production, Studio & Technical Area Upkeep, Editing, Live Production Support.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate Grass Valley Ignite Automation Production System
  • Operate Teleprompter and monitor Closed Captioning
  • Adobe Premiere Editing
  • Prepares and strikes studio for newscasts and productions
  • Builds and decorates the set and/or provides props used for production
  • Provide production-related support as needed and may work with outside production facilities
  • Assist in digital media productions, liaising with appropriate departments
  • Maintains and stores props, sets, lighting equipment

Requirements & Skills:

  • Degree in Communication or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience directing live newscast with Grass Valley Ignite Automation Production System
  • Must be able to interact well with news, production and engineering staff
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
