Job description

Who we are looking for
State Street Investment Management is seeking a seasoned Officer to project manage and drive excellence across proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs, that support Institutional, Intermediary, and Transition Management distribution channels.
Why this role is important to us
In this role as a Senior Proposal Manager based in Boston, you will serve as a project manager for complex and high-priority proposals, including RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and surveys, along the global Proposal Management team based in Boston. You will partner closely with Sales, Investment, Client Coverage, Product Specialists, and global content teams to coordinate end-to-end proposal execution, ensuring submissions are delivered on time, meet the highest quality standards, and effectively communicate the firm's capabilities and client-focused value proposition.
This role reports to the North America Proposal Management Lead and ultimately aligns with the Global Proposal Management leadership team to support strategic business development and client retention objectives.
What you will be responsible for
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Strategic Enablement
  • Own and project manage complex RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and consultant questionnaires across NA, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring on-time delivery, clear accountability, and adherence to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communication, coordinating effectively with Sales, Investments, Product Specialists, Client Coverage, Legal, Compliance, and Content teams to secure accurate inputs, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Deliver high-quality, client-centric submissions by developing compelling customized responses, validating fund, performance, and organizational data, and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance throughout the process.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through rigorous quality reviews, proposal metrics tracking, process optimization, and active participation in automation initiatives that enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop deep expertise in a specific asset class and leverage that knowledge to support team objectives, mentor colleagues, strengthen content quality, and serve as a trusted subject matter resource within the global proposal function.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Strengthen connectivity with global Proposal teams (US, EMEA, India), Global RFP Content Management, Consultant Database, Product, Investments, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing.
  • Contribute to global initiatives including content transformation, automation, digital tooling, workflow enhancements, and regulatory readiness.

Quality, Governance & Risk Management
  • Ensure proposals meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Uphold compliance with all regulatory, operational, and risk frameworks applicable across all regions and jurisdictions.
  • Drive continuous improvements in data sourcing, content governance, and validation processes in partnership with SMEs and central content owners.

What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
  • Exceptional communication, project management, analytical thinking, and stakeholder-management skills as an independent contributor.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead critical deal calls, influence cross-functional groups, and operate effectively in a global matrix.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex information under tight deadlines.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in asset management, including experience in writing RFP/RFI/DDQ, consultant relations, product, or institutional sales support.
  • Deep understanding of global asset owner and intermediary landscapes, investment products (index, active, solutions), and institutional sales cycles.
  • Strong grasp of investment and financial concepts across equities, fixed income, multi-asset, cash, currency, and alternatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and proposal platforms; experience with Seismic, RFPio/Responsive, Qvidian, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required; finance specialization preferred.
