Property Support Manager information

What is a property support manager?

A Property Support Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day operations of properties, often within a portfolio or for a property management company. Their duties typically include coordinating maintenance and repairs, managing tenant relations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting property managers with administrative tasks. They play a key role in ensuring properties are well-maintained and that both owners and tenants receive prompt and effective service. This position often requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as knowledge of property management best practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a property support manager?

To thrive as a Property Support Manager, you need expertise in property management, facilities operations, budgeting, and a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with property management software (such as Yardi or AppFolio), building maintenance systems, and potentially certifications like CPM (Certified Property Manager) is typical. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for managing tenant relations and coordinating with vendors. These skills ensure efficient property operations, tenant satisfaction, and proactive issue resolution in dynamic real estate environments.

How does a property support manager typically collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth property operations?

A Property Support Manager regularly works with maintenance, leasing, and administrative teams to address tenant needs, coordinate repairs, and ensure compliance with property regulations. They facilitate communication between on-site staff and upper management, helping to prioritize tasks and resolve issues efficiently. This role often involves organizing meetings, sharing updates, and implementing best practices across properties, making teamwork and strong communication skills essential for success.

You've mastered property management. Now do it with real support and your weekends back. You must have an active Virginia Real Estate License! We are looking for an experienced Property Manager to specialize in Lease Renewals and Rent Collections.
Real Property Management Richmond Metro | $60,000-$70,000 + benefits | Monday to Friday, no weekends
You already know what this job demands, because you've been doing it. You know the 4 p.m. Friday water leak, the owner who wants answers now, the resident who just needs to feel heard, and the quiet satisfaction of a portfolio that runs the way it should. What you may not have is a company that gives you the support, the systems, and the schedule to do the job the way you know it should be done.
That's exactly what we're offering.
We're Real Property Management Richmond Metro, and we're hiring an experienced Property Manager who's ready to stop firefighting and finally focus on the work they do best. Same work you're already great at, with the support you've been missing.
This role is for you if…
You build order out of chaos. You've taken a messy portfolio and turned it into a running system before, and you'd happily do it again.
You advise, not just report. When you talk to an owner about rent pricing or delinquency you sound like a consultant, not a messenger.
You stay steady when it hits the fan. You calmly work the problem instead of spiraling.
You pay attention to the metrics. Occupancy, delinquency, budget variance: you know your numbers and you move them.
What your week actually looks like:
You're the trusted advisor and day-to-day point of contact for your owners and residents on the subject of Lease Renewals and Rent Collections. You'll set rent strategy with owners, keep residents happy and informed, keep records clean, and own the KPIs that define your role: occupancy, rent delinquency and budget variance. Our focus is relationships, not "tenants and toilets."
Why experienced property managers are switching to us:
Support that has your back. Dedicated leasing and maintenance support means you focus on managing your operation well, not doing every task yourself.
No weekends. Ever. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (3:00 on Fridays) The emergencies don't own your Saturdays anymore.
Systems that actually work. Proven processes and technology so you manage the Lease Renewals and Collections instead of putting out the same fire twice.
Competitive, predictable pay. $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience, plus health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and paid holidays.
