Description:
  • Provides a role that coordinates, facilitates, and develops the primary tactical and strategic Security, Emergency Services, and Investigative functions for Plant Spartanburg and other BMW locations in USA and Canada, as needed.
  • Develops and implements core security strategies to meet location's business needs and serves as a key resource to BMW Manufacturing, site business management, and external partners.
  • Ensures that security and emergency services are performing efficiently at the highest level and is under continual systemic review.
  • Serves as liaison with local law enforcement to assist investigations of accidents, thefts, and property loss.
  • Assists in Plant Spartanburg Security and Emergency Services functions, as well as Crisis Management operations.
  • Reviews security technology tools (cameras, radar, License Plate Readers, etc.) to identify subject(s) committing criminal acts or causing damage on BMW property.
  • Facilitates Department Meetings weekly
  • Maintains Intranet sites of the Department as needed
  • Maintains Organizational Charts for the Departments Region Americas
  • Updates and suggests improvements to the Department Guidelines
  • Weapons detection system project

  • Security system updates
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

The qualified intern should expect to contribute to improvements in the following functions:
  • Conduct research and conceptualize new ideas.
  • Support project management and coordination of plans for related projects.
  • Coordinate and support focused, community-based events and initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret information to evaluate the landscape against business strategies.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and recommend relevant initiatives for activities and actions.
  • Provide regular input on enhancing processes and practices.
  • Support the organization's vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap.
  • Partner with stakeholders to enable successful prioritization, development, delivery, and adoption of program goals.
  • Create PowerPoint slide decks for presentations and support preparation for meetings.
  • Participate in project team meetings.
  • Provide general administrative support.
  • Schedule the use of meeting room facilities on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned by project team members.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred Degrees: Emergency Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Fire Science
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
