Job description

Joining the Mayo Clinic Historic Properties culinary team offers a unique experience in the culinary world.  In addition to being eligible for the full Mayo Clinic benefit package (including: health and dental insurance, PTO, pension/retirement plan), what sets this team apart from most kitchens is its well-established reputation for maintaining a calm, positive atmosphere, creating an inviting and supportive workplace, where individuals can thrive without the stress typically associated with culinary environments.  One of the most appealing aspects is the schedule-there are very limited weekend shifts, and weekday dinner service concludes much earlier than in traditional restaurants.  This means you can enjoy a better work-life balance, while being part of a team that values professionalism and camaraderie.
A Historic Properties Cook will assist in the preparation and plating of food for all events at the Historic Properties.  Focus on the highest level of customer service and quality in a fine dining setting.  Contributes to ongoing menu creation and development, all focused on health and wellness.  Ability to coordinate with culinary team to execute multiple course menus in accordance with event schedule.  Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout kitchen and workspaces.  Assists with clean up and dishes after event as needed.
