Job description

Job Summary: The Dietary Dish room/Utility position helps in Washing Pots and Pans retrieves dirty dishes and washes them. These positions also helps with the set up and break down of all special functions along with helping with other various duties as assigned; sweeping, mopping, stocking, cleaning floors, walls and ceilings, etc.

Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values.


Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  1. Follows directions and performs work according to departmental standards.
  2. Demonstrates competency to deliver food trays to the patient floors in the absence of the Hospitality Aide.
  3. Demonstrates proper dishwashing techniques and at proper temperatures.
  4. Demonstrates through actions, proper cleaning of floors, walls and equipment utilizing proper safety PPE.
  5. Demonstrates through actions, proper cleaning techniques for equipment, utensils and service work
  6. Demonstrates through actions, proper trash removal, operation of trash compactor and thorough cleaning of waste cans at each interval.

Performs additional tasks as assigned.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Reading, writing and communicable skills are a must.

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary.

Experience: Some food service helpful.
