 TerraVest Tanks MI LLC manufactures and refurbishes propane tanks that support homes and businesses across North America. Pay and Schedule

• $18.00 per hour
• $1,000 sign-on bonus
• Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Three-day weekends every week
• Stable, year-round work

What You'll Be Doing

As a Yard Laborer, you will help keep propane tanks and materials moving safely through our outdoor yard operation. Depending on your daily assignment, you may:

• Help load, unload, stage, and prepare propane tanks
• Assist with tank pump-out and preparation
• Install or remove valves, gauges, plugs, and other tank components
• Receive, inspect, organize, and stock vendor materials
• Help prepare tanks and materials for outbound shipments
• Operate authorized yard and material-handling equipment after completing company training
• Maintain an organized yard by repositioning materials, removing garbage, trimming vegetation, shoveling, sweeping, and completing other 5S projects
• Communicate with coworkers using two-way radios and established signals

During your first six months, you will receive hands-on training across the yard's primary work areas. Employees generally work in one assigned area during a shift but may occasionally help in another area based on staffing, production, or refresher-training needs.

Working Outdoors

This is an active, primarily outdoor position. Team members work throughout the year in Northern Michigan heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, mud, and changing conditions.

TerraVest provides required rain gear and winter wear, allows additional recovery breaks during extreme weather, and suspends outdoor work during lightning.

What We're Looking For

No prior propane-tank, manufacturing, or powered-equipment experience is required. TerraVest provides hands-on, job-specific training.

A successful Yard Laborer will be:

• At least 18 years old
• Dependable and ready to work as part of a team
• Safety-minded and willing to follow work instructions
• Comfortable learning to use hand tools and yard equipment
• Able to communicate clearly and ask questions when something is unclear
• Willing to stop work and report an unsafe condition
• Comfortable climbing ladders, working from trailer decks, and maintaining balance while assisting with elevated tank loads

Requirements

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for nearly the full 10-hour shift
• Lift and carry tools, parts, packages, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Frequently push, pull, slide, or reposition materials, including dunnage weighing up to approximately 75 pounds, with powered assistance used whenever practicable
• Bend, squat, stoop, crouch, reach, grip, grasp, twist, and use hand tools
• Walk and work on gravel, sand, mud, snow, ice, ruts, and other uneven outdoor surfaces
• Repeatedly get on and off authorized yard equipment
• Climb ladders and access trailer decks while maintaining balance
