Job description

The Inside Sales Representative is the frontline connection between Fairbank and our customers—bringing energy, expertise, and solutions to every interaction. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be the trusted resource for order entry, product guidance, and day-to-day support across our full portfolio, including fertilizer storage and application equipment, propane systems. You’ll engage with ag producers, contractors, industrial businesses, and individual customers through phone, email, and digital channels, delivering exceptional service while collaborating with internal teams to drive revenue, build relationships, and ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Position RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist customers by identifying product needs, processing sales orders, and pulling parts to fulfill orders.
  • Identify, research, and qualify prospective customers from inbound inquiries, trade shows, online leads, dealer networks, and business directories.
  • Make outbound followup calls and emails; respond to inbound calls and convert inquiries into sales.
  • Provide product demonstrations and highlight key features and benefits.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, pricing, and order documentation.
  • Provide delivery estimates based on current production and shipping schedules.
  • Maintain customer relationships through regular communication and followup.
  • Enter and maintain customer and sales data in CRM or database systems.
  • Partner with outside sales to keep account activities and materials current.
  • Investigate and help resolve customer concerns, including shipping or delivery issues.
  • Represent the company at trade shows or industry events as needed.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, professional appearance.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior inside sales, customer service, or technical sales experience preferred.
  • Prefer candidate to have background in propane equipment
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and product information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (percentages, ratios, and simple calculations).
  • Ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot issues, and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency with computers and common business software (email, CRM, spreadsheets, word processing).
  • Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands for typing or handling materials.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
