Job Requirements
Are you passionate about helping customers with their home improvement projects? We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our team! In this role, you will help create an exceptional shopping experience by providing knowledgeable service, assisting customers with product selection, and supporting daily store operations. If you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and staying active in a fast-paced retail environment, we'd love to meet you.
  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service to create a positive and helpful shopping experience.
  • Greet customers when they enter the store and thank them for their visit as they leave.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and guide them to the right products and solutions for their projects.
  • Recommend complementary products and explain product features, uses, and benefits.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate department or team member when additional assistance is needed.
  • Accurately process sales, returns, and exchanges using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Promote the store's loyalty program, monthly promotions, and in-store events.
  • Encourage customers to share feedback through Google reviews or other approved channels.
  • Keep aisles, shelves, and front-end areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Maintain product displays and ensure merchandise is properly stocked and labeled.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to store leadership.
  • Support online and curbside pickup orders, ensuring they are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Use Theatro communication technology to stay connected with team members and respond to customer needs.
  • Develop knowledge in assigned departments to better assist customers with project-specific questions.
  • Perform hands-on services such as key cutting, glass cutting, screen repair, propane filling, and cutting chain, rope, or wire.
  • Assemble products and displays for customers and in-store merchandising.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered equipment safely to move inventory and stock merchandise.
  • Complete required safety training and report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Leader on Duty.
  • Escalate customer concerns or complex product questions when needed.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Aubuchon Core Values.

Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior retail or hardware experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills for transactions, inventory management, and project estimates.
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery, including key-cutting machines, material-handling equipment, and forklifts.
  • Willingness to complete forklift and propane certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Positive, professional, and approachable demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to business needs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, push, and reach throughout shifts.
  • Must be comfortable working in an animal-friendly environment (accommodations available upon request).
