CADRE is relied upon for delivering superior insight and leadership to solve the nation's most critical national security challenges in the most demanding environments.This Database Administrator position is located in Northern Virginia with flexible core hours.The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for implementing, modifying, and deploying software affecting mission critical networks/systems as well as determining ways to organize and store data. The DBA will identify user requirements, set up computer databases, and test and coordinate modifications to the computer database systems. DBA ensures the performance of the system, understands the platform on which the database runs, and adds new users to the system. Finally, the DBA plans and coordinates security measures and has a knowledge of data integrity, backup systems, and database security. Duties: This Database Administrator performs the following core functions:Perform server and storage capacity management and planning for the most complex and critical systemsRecommend and implement process and tool improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's change management and configuration management processes and systemsPerform server performance tuningUtilize system software to monitor the performance of system files; manages system data to maintain performance efficienciesStudy system requirements to determine prop r server installation methods and proceduresProvide technical support in the evaluation of pi inie object names, data elements, and other objectsEnsure that proposed object definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and that they represent singular conceptsAnswer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problemsEnter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errorsInstall and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specificationsConfer with management, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modificationsConduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and supportPlan and test capacity requirementsInspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to usersPerforms other duties asassigned at the direction of Project management Required Qualifications:Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polyBachelor's degree preferred, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill.No degree + seven (7) year5 relevant experienceAssociate's degree + five (5) years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree + three (3) years of relevant experienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience specific to the skill. Someone that is fully capable of delivering capabilities related to a particular skill, language, system, or technology. Ability, training and actual work experience with the specific computer language, systems, and/or technology is significantly more important than the number of years of experience. This is especially true with emerging technologies.Experience with OracleKnowledge of Oracle Administration, Oracle system maintenance on Windows environment Desired Qualifications:Active TS/SCI with poly with most recent BI/Polygraph dates within the last five yearsPast experience with older versions of Oracle, especially Oracle 11g Advanced Replication experienceExperience with Backup Exec in a virtual environment
