Job description

About Prop Firm Match Global FZCOProp Firm Match Global FZCO is the leading platform for discovering, comparing, and selecting proprietary trading firms. We help traders make confident, informed decisions by offering side-by-side comparisons, verified reviews, and data-backed insights from the top prop firms worldwide. Our mission is to bring transparency, access, and clarity to the prop trading space.
Role Mission
Build, maintain, and scale reliable automations and AI-powered workflows that streamline operations across Prop Firm Match. This role turns ideas into production-grade systems using n8n, Python/TS, and API integrations, ensuring high reliability, observability, and measurable business impact.
Requirements
Top 6 Performance Objectives
1. Deliver high-impact automations for core workflows (first 60-90 days; ongoing)
  • Take 3-5 priority processes from scoping to production automation (Ops, Growth, Content, CS, Risk).
  • Build using n8n + Python/TS/JavaScript logic modules.
  • Deliver MVP versions fast, iterate based on feedback.
Outcome: At least 3 production workflows live within 90 days, saving time or reducing errors by measurable %.

2. Build robust, modular, and well-architected workflows (ongoing)
  • Translate business rules into modular, reusable workflow components with a clear separation of concerns.
  • Implement retries, structured error handling, alerting, and idempotency across all critical workflow paths.
Outcome: All new workflows are understandable, reusable, and extendable by peers within 20-30 minutes.

3. Own API integrations end-to-end (first 90-120 days; ongoing)
  • Build and maintain integrations with internal and external APIs (REST/GraphQL/OAuth/webhooks).
  • Handle dynamic data structures, pagination, rate limits, and authentication refresh.
  • Monitor upstream failures and design fallback strategies.
Outcome: Integrations run with > 99% uptime and zero silent failures.

4. Implement observability & monitoring for all automations (first 120 days)
  • Set standards for logging, structured error messages, and monitoring.
  • Build basic dashboards or alerting (Slack alerts, logs dashboards, error queues).
Outcome: Issues are detected early - no black-box workflows.

5. Maintain documentation, run books, and clear SOPs (ongoing)
  • Document workflows: purpose, logic, variables, failure modes, key integration points.
  • Create simple run books for non-technical stakeholders to triage basic failures.
Outcome: Anyone can understand the system state within 15 minutes.

6. Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements (ongoing)
  • Participate in discovery to clarify vague automation ideas ("we need to automate X") into clear specifications.
  • Suggest pragmatic approaches that maximize ROI and reduce complexity.
  • Provide continuous feedback to improve architectural standards.
Outcome: Automations delivered match business outcomes, not just technical specs.

Must-Have Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate real accomplishments in:
1. Automation & Workflow Engineering: Built production-grade automations in n8n or similar tools (Make, Zapier, Tray.io, Airflow, Prefect). Experience structuring workflows into reusable components.
2. API Integration: Built reliable API integrations with advanced requirements (pagination, auth refresh, rate limits, error fallback).
3. Software Engineering Foundation: Strong hands-on experience with Python or TypeScript (ideally both) Experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, debugging, testing.
4. Reliability & Observability: Implemented logs, alerts, dashboards, or monitoring systems.
5. Ownership Mindset: Successfully took projects from vague idea → spec → implementation → production support.
Soft Skills / On-the-Job Behaviors
  • Quietly reliable - things you build "just work" consistently.
  • Systems thinker: sees cause-effect chains, avoids messy hacks.
  • Clear written communicator (async-friendly).
  • Pragmatic and fast - focuses on ROI, not over-engineering.
  • Comfortable pushing back when requirements are unclear or suboptimal.

Before applying, please take into account that:
  • If you don't meet every single qualification but believe you can excel in the role based on what it requires - we encourage you to apply.
  • We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Even if it's not listed as a formal requirement, we truly value candidates who have clear familiarity with the prop trading industry and us, our mission and what we do.

Hiring stages
We keep the process structured, respectful of your time, and focused on real skills.
Here's what to expect:
1. Application questionnaire - Self-Paced: A short, structured assessment to understand your background. (Async; ~10 minutes)
2. HR Deep Dive: A conversation focused on your motivation, ownership style, culture fit, and your past accomplishments.
3. Technical Interview with Head of Engineering & CTO: A 60-75 minute session focused on:
  • Real-world reasoning
  • Automation thinking
  • System design approach Including a Live Demo: You'll be asked to show how you would build or troubleshoot a workflow using n8n or code - focusing on your thought process, not perfection.

4. Technical Assignment: A more advanced automation + API + reliability challenge, designed to reflect real work at PFM. We review code quality, modularity, error-handling, clarity, and overall architecture.
5. (Optional / On-Demand) Interview with Top Management: A strategic conversation to align expectations, understand long-term contribution, and ensure cultural alignment with PFM leadership.
6. Offer Stage: If successful, we begin with an informal offer discussion, followed by a formal written offer.
