Job description

Location: Bluffton, IN
We are mixing up something new in Bluffton, IN. This is an exciting time to join our team. We hold ourselves to the highest of quality standards. Each bag of Dot's Pretzels tastes as if they were made straight from the home kitchen of Dot herself. Our foundation is built on relationships. We are family. The Dot's Pretzels brand has seen an enormous amount of growth, so we are looking for employees to become a part of our team in the Bluffton, IN location.
Pay:
  • Weekly pay
  • $500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates

Shifts:
  • Days and Night shift available
  • 12-hour shifts (7am- 7pm, 7pm- 7am)
  • Working 3-4 days/week. This is a 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation)

Summary:
Bakers are the start of the pretzel making process. You'll be responsible for running a large mixer and extruder with computer programing and hand measuring. Previous machine operating experience is a must. Large bakery experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow all SOPs to keep consistent product quality
  • Recognize the different dough textures
  • Keep hoppers filled with proper amount of dough
  • Properly measure the minor ingredients by performing catch samples
  • Check dough temperature
  • Check the flour sifter each shift
  • Check all drives, cookers, salters, ovens, dryers, discharge, and proofing conveyors to ensure they are properly operating and set to correct settings
  • Document cuts per minute as required
  • Check and record caustic every 30 minutes record on BakerQC
  • Check wet weights/length every 30 minutes record on BakerQC
  • Create inventory moves in S4 Hana
  • Record all ingredient lot numbers
  • Keep salter full with the correct level.
  • Notify leads, QA, and packers of any bad product and how long it will last
  • Communicate with immediate supervisor if any problems arise
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor and management

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • One-month related experience or training
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing/food manufacturing environment including the following: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Autonomous/Preventative Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP/LPR.
