Job description

Location: 3 Trask Lane, Danvers MA 01923

This is a paid internship. Graduate students are not eligible for this program.

Internship Summary: 

Cell Signaling Technology, Inc. (CST) is a worldwide leader in developing and commercializing antibodies, assays, and research tools. By employing and training students from our surrounding communities and colleges, CST is able to provide interns with a positive hands-on experience in our Laboratory, where they can learn valuable skills from our knowledgeable CST Scientists and Engineers. Many of the student interns are invited to continue their internship for consecutive years, and after completing their degrees, some return to CST as full-time employees. This internship position is paid  ($18.00 per hour) and is a full-time onsite role, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and train agentic AI models for automated liquid handling feedback and scripting.
  • Integrate CST's Laboratory Information Management System into our automated liquid handling robotics fleet.
  • Work with industry scientists and engineers to test and deploy solutions into real scientific workflows.
  • Coordinate with cross functional team members and execute projects in a timely manner.

Technical Highlights: 

  • Basic software DevOps practices and procedures Programming experience in a professional environment.
  • Exposure to laboratory practice and liquid handling systems.
  • Ability to use creativity and own ideas to create automated solutions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other engineers and scientists.
  • Project management experience including Jira tools.
  • Github and version control.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Basic programming proficiency in Python or equivalent programming language.
  • Should possess a passion for technology, science, and learning.
  • Exhibit strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Familiarity with ETL Processes (Extract, Transform, & Load).
  • Basic command line skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LLM training and prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with Process Diagramming and ability to abstract workflows.
  • Ability to model data structures to efficiently store, maintain, and retrieve data.
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming and scripting.
  • Experience with SQL and C++ is nice to have, but not required.
  • Experience with Github.
  • Experience working in a wet lab environment.
  • Familiarity with liquid handling devices and practices.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in teams.
