Join Bridgerland Technical College as a Part-Time Maker Space Service Technician and help inspire innovation through hands-on learning and emerging technologies. Located in Logan, Utah, this onsite position offers the opportunity to support students, entrepreneurs, businesses, and community members as they transform ideas into reality using advanced fabrication equipment and creative problem-solving.

About Bridgerland Technical College
Bridgerland Technical College is one of eight technical colleges in Utah. We provide high-quality technical education to those in the Bear River Region. Through hands-on learning and strong industry partnerships, we prepare students for successful careers in today's workforce.
What You'll Do
As a Part-Time Maker Space Service Technician, you'll provide technical assistance, equipment support, and exceptional customer service while helping maintain a safe, innovative, and welcoming maker space. You'll work closely with students, entrepreneurs, faculty, staff, and community members to support creative projects and business development.
In this role, you will:
  • Assist students, entrepreneurs, businesses, and community members with projects, equipment, and technical questions.
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and small-group training on makerspace equipment and software.
  • Develop and update equipment training materials and instructional resources.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform basic upkeep on makerspace equipment.
  • Teach safe operating procedures and promote best practices for equipment use.
  • Support prototyping, product development, fabrication, and creative projects.
  • Give tours of the facility and educate visitors about available resources and services.
  • Assist with workshops, demonstrations, community events, and outreach activities.
  • Support marketing efforts through community engagement, social media, and promotional events.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve services, workflows, and the customer experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional makerspace environment.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and facility operations.
  • Support the Bridgerland Entrepreneurship Center's mission of helping innovators and businesses grow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to individuals with varying experience levels.
  • A willingness to learn new equipment, software, and fabrication technologies.

  • A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience with makerspace equipment such as 3D printers, CNC routers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, sublimation printers, sewing machines, or similar fabrication tools.
  • Experience with audio/video equipment, podcast studios, photography, lighting, or multimedia production.
  • Experience using design and manufacturing software such as Fusion 360, Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud, VCarve Pro, MeshMixer, CAD software, or related applications.
  • Experience providing technical support, training, instruction, or customer service.
  • Marketing, social media, or community outreach experience.
  • A passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning.
