Job description

Essential Functions:
  • Approach work with a Continuous Improvement mindset, and engage in Model Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Own and promote a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Maintaining accuracy in picking orders.
  • Maintaining proper product rotation. Checking all codes and stock in area.
  • Maintaining a clean workstation at all times, including cardboard boxes.
  • Getting empty cases for building of by-products.
  • Getting tags for identifying stacks for loading.
  • Taking all leakers to the reprocess area. Notifying Supervisor and/or Filler Operator if the leakers are coming from the plant.
  • Maintaining appropriate dress and personal appearance standards.
  • Unload trailers of empty pallets and cases using pallet jack, move cases to washer for cleaning.
  • Load pallets into trucks using pallet jack; ability to follow written load tickets for accurate shipments.
  • Stage product for shipping; ability to follow written load tickets for accurate loads.
  • Knowing, understanding and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Promoting and maintaining company goodwill in all areas. Assisting others and performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be a trustworthy self-starter who can work independently on highly detailed tasks and deliver accurate, timely results.
  • Ability to learn quickly and continuously.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for full shift, lift 50 lbs., pull/push up to 300 pounds and work safely around industrial machinery.
  • Must be able to work in cold (refrigerated) environment.
  • Must be available to work any shift including weekends.
